Nina M. Lemocks

Nina M. Lemocks, 85, of Stony Creek Va., passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 21, 2026 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene C. Lemocks; two brothers and a sister.

Nina is survived by her son, Richard “Rick” Lemocks; grandson, D. Mason Lemocks and partner, Wesley Derrow; cherished niece Amy Thomas and a sister, Marilyn “Sweetie” Harrup. Family was one of the most important things in Nina’s life. She loved her husband, son and grandson more than anything. She and Gene were married for 65 years before his passing in 2023. She was the rock that held the family together. She touched and influenced many lives, especially her unofficial second son Tom Baicy and Mason's mother Kathi Harris Temple. Nina worked for the Sussex County school system and mainly as the secretary of Stony Creek Jr. High School. Everyone in the Stony Creek community that attended the Junior High remembers her collecting lunch money at the school. She also loved to travel. She has literally been from sea to shining sea. Nina loved cooking (especially her strawberry jam), sewing, decorating her house for Christmas, and attending church at Sappony Baptist Church. She served on the town council of Stony Creek for many years. She loved the beach. Her favorite time of year was spending September at North Myrtle Beach with her husband and friends. She always said spending time on the beach, listening to the ocean, watching the sunrise or collecting shells was one of the most relaxing times for her. Nina loved to keep track of the Royal Family in England. She loved Queen Elizabeth. She also loved to watch the show Survivor and all the cooking shows on PBS. The family wishes to acknowledge the devoted attention of the many caregivers that treated her with dignity and kindness. Nina was a stickler for being on time. If you are there 10 minutes early, you are late- haha!

There will be a remembrance service for her as follows:

11 a.m. - Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Southlawn Memorial Park.      “DON’T BE LATE!”
