Michael Ward, Sr.

Michael “Big Mike” Ward, Sr., 51, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaines Ward and a brother, Clarence Ward.

Mike is survived by his wife, Melanie; two daughters, Rebekah Ward and husband Bill and Micaela Ward; son, Michael ‘Mike” Ward, Jr. and wife Taylor; nine grandchildren, Angel, Thiago, Alexis, Jordan, Ryan, Liam, Peyten, Paige and Paisley; his mother, Brenda Saunders; two sisters, Patricia Saunders and Brenda Lee Castner; two brothers, Tony Ward and Mark Ward and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 10 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
