Lorrell Merricks Wilson

Rosa Lorrell Merricks Wilson, 83, of Emporia, Virginia went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 1, 2023.

She is survived by her husband, John Robert Wilson, Sr.; her daughter, Pamela Wilson Aerni (Paul), her daughter-in-law, Sandra (Sandy) Sykes Wilson, and her four grandchildren, Adam Aerni (Rachel), Ryan Aerni (Amber), John (Trey) Robert Wilson III (Katie), and Laura Annette Wilson. Lorrell adored her great granddaughter, Kimber Aerni and great grandson, Danny McDonald. Her nieces, Joan Sasser (Tony), Debbie Pearce (Randy), Donna Conner (Clarence), Connie Wilson, and Wanda Wilson, hold a very special please in her heart.

She is preceded in death by her son, John Robert Wilson, Jr.; her sisters, Janie Brown (Bobby) and Barbara Wilson (Joseph), her mother, Clara Wright Rawlings Merricks, her father, Henry Edward Merricks.

Lorrell, also affectionately known as Nan and Rell, will be dearly missed and always remembered. A private family graveside service will be held at Emporia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
