Linward Earl Allen, 76, of Emporia, passed peacefully at his home with his wife and family by his side on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Linward was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis F. Allen and Cornelia Daniel Allen, sisters, Ruby Harvey, Beatrice Harrell and Phyllis Woodruff.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Mary Keesee Allen; daughters, Lisa Allen Kinsey (Buster) and Rhonda Allen Mullis; grandchildren, Titus Kinsey, Olivia Kinsey, Collin Mullis and Emma Kinsey; sister, Margaret Hudson; brothers, Sherman Allen, Wesley Allen and Ray Allen.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Linward was the owner of Allen’s Appliance Repair. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed fishing trips with his good friend, R. H. Bradley. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church for 50 years and was a deacon for many years. He loved his family and especially enjoyed when all were together.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 12 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 13 led by Pastor John Kinsey. Interment with military honors will follow at Greensville Memorial Cemetery.
