Mike served his country for 18 years in the United States Navy, including active duty during the Gulf War. He spent much of his work career distributing food products including driving and selling with Pennsylvania favorites, Martins, and UTZ. He delighted in meeting people during his work travel and deliveries. Later in life “Mr. Mike”, a Greensville County school bus driver, safely transported children and youth to and from school and extra curricular events.
A sports enthusiast, Mike could always be counted on for extended conversations about any college or professional game and especially those of his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Orioles. He was also a frequent spectator at car racing events over the years, especially NASCAR. Mike became a resident of Emporia, Virginia after meeting his longtime companion, Nancy L. Hill.
