Mrs. Judis Darden Jarratt, 82, of Emporia, departed this life on Friday morning, May 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jarratt; her mother, Mamie Green; her father, Frank Darden; her stepfather, Rufus Green; and her granddaughter, Ashley Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Deborah Phillips and husband Tony of Coker, Alabama, Cynthia Gore and husband Lindel of Branson, Missouri, Angela Smith and husband Michael of Emporia, Ann Newton and husband Neal of Townsville, North Carolina, and Jennifer Kieffer of Birmingham, Alabama; one son, William D. Jarratt and wife Tammy of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; four granddaughters, five grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna High and husband Pete of Estill Springs, Tennessee; one uncle, J.T. Driver and wife, Mae of Richmond, Virginia; and one aunt, Virginia Epps of Comer, Georgia.

Her funeral will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 25 at Zion Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 12:30 p.m.
