Joan Mckenzie Gainey

Mrs. Joan M. Gainey, 82, of Emporia passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gainey; grandson; Cody Gainey and a son, Tim Gainey.

Mrs. Gainey is survived by two sons, Tony Gainey (Pam) and Mark Gainey (Marsha); grandchildren, Josiah Gainey, Antony Gainey (Kasey), Allison Lynch (Kurt), Logan Gainey, Timothy Gainey, John Lee Gainey and Brooke Moss (Flip) and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 23 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends 12-2 prior to the service. Interment will follow at High Hills Memorial Cemetery.
