James "Jimmy) Milton Edwards

James “Jim or Jimmy” Milton Edwards of Franklin, Virginia passed away in a Richmond Hospital on Monday, December 9, 2024. He was the son of the late Gracie Sykes Edwards and Milton Jones Edwards and was also preceded in death by a sister, Jane E. Holt.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty; three sisters, Joyce Ann Edwards of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Joan E. Richardson (Ray) of Rocky Mount, NC and Jean E. Hux (Phil) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a brother-in-law, Bobby Holt of Roanoke Rapids and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College).

He retired from The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company in Suffolk, Virginia as an accountant. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. He was also a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #151. He enjoyed time spent with friends at Fred’s Restaurant. At his request, there will be no funeral services.
