Franklin B. Moore

Franklin B. Moore, Sr., "Duke", 79, of Weldon, formerly of Jarratt, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Harrell Moore; son, Jamie Moore; granddaughter, Julie Moore; two brothers, Sanford Moore, Jr. and Linwood Earl Moore and sister, Barbara Lee Jones.

Duke is survived by two sons, Franklin B. "Pete" Moore, Jr. (Kathy) and Timothy Scott Moore (Lora); daughter, Debbie Moore; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, John Wayne Moore (Deanna) and numerous nieces and nephews. 

His funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at High Hills Memorial Cemetery.
