Elizabeth Lankford Jones

Elizabeth Lankford Jones, age 86, passed away August 5, 2026, at the Masonic Home of Virginia in Richmond, VA.

Born on April 16, 1940, in Greensville County, VA., Elizabeth was the daughter of Cecil E. Lankford, Sr. and Hunter S. Lankford. She was raised in Purdy, Virginia.

She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Carroll Myron Jones.

She is survived by her two daughters, Yevonne J. Childers (Rick) and Carolyn J. Tucker (Walter), all of Purdy; three grandsons Eric Myron Tucker of Henrico, VA, Evan Lynn Tucker (Becky) of King William, VA and Scott Tucker (Jess), of Glenwood Springs, CO; and six great-grandchildren, Colton, Levi, Harrison, and Nora Tucker, all of King William, VA.; and Ash, Casey Tucker, of Glenwood Springs CO.

She was also survived by her brother Cecil E. Lankford, Jr. of Pineville, NC, and sister Marion L. Dickerson (Richard) of Kill Devil Hills, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a long-standing member of various Order of the Eastern Star chapters. She was a member of the Church of the Creator, Mechanicsville, VA.

She was a dedicated beautician for over 50 years.

She enjoyed many years of active membership with her husband in various organizations including the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9808 and the American Legion Post 175, both in Mechanicsville, VA.

She lived the final years of her life at the Masonic Home of Virginia, surrounded by many dear friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Masonic Home of Virginia for the kind and tender care while she was a resident at The Home.

A private family graveside service will be held at Grace Church, Purdy, VA.
