Betty Bradley Gordon

Betty Bradley Gordon, 87, of Brink, widow of Tommy Gordon passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Cora Bradley and was also preceded in death by her three brothers Cola Bradley, George Bradley, and Billy Bradley.

Betty was born and raised in Jarratt, Va attending Lebanon Methodist Church and went to the Jarratt School. In 1956 she married and raised her three children in Brink while faithfully attending Forest Hill Baptist Church. Through the years she served as a dedicated wife, mother, sunday school & VBS teacher, all while taking care of various nieces and nephews while her husband and family farmed. She was a seamstress at Lucky 13 and the Jarratt Sewing factory. She helped raise not only her own children but her nieces and nephews and later in life, helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She served God faithfully and always had a prayer and a plate of food waiting for you. Betty was a blessing to her family and friends, and all she met. She will be greatly missed.

Betty is survived by her sisters Nellie Rawlings, Anne Griffin, Martha Bradley, and sister in law Patsy Bradley. She is also survived by her children Cathy Pope, G. T. Gordon Jr. (Sherry), and Edward Gordon. Also survived by her grandchildren David T. Pope, Rebecca Magness, Amy Bowen(Andy), David L. Gordon, Kelly Allen(Jesse), Katie Jo Drummond(Bubba), Leela Gordon, Aaron Gordon, and Aiden Gordon.

 She is also survived by her great grandchildren Brianna Bowen, William Bowen, Chloe Magness, Noah Magness, Eli Magness, Gabriel Magness, Amery Harris, Star Moseley, Neal Allen, McKenley Allen, Millie Brown, Gavin Brown, Natalie Small, and Maysee Small. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Thursday October 29th at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt Va. The funeral service will be held Friday October 30th at 11:00am at Forest Hill Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Forest Hill Baptist Church.
