Belinda Edwards

Belinda H. Edwards was born on December 9, 1954, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, to Faye and Charlie Atkins High. She was raised in Triplet, Virginia, alongside her five siblings.

Belinda graduated from Brunswick Academy and began her working career at Allen’s Drugstore in Lawrenceville, Virginia. After holding several other positions, she began a long career in banking, working as a bank teller at Central Fidelity and several other banks throughout the years. She later worked for the Department of Social Services, where she remained until her retirement.

Belinda is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Al Edwards; her sons, Andy Seward (Joy), Chuck Edwards (Leslie), and Hunter Edwards; her grandchildren, Destiny Seward, Lexie Seward, Nick Seward (Hannah), Zack Seward, and Charley Edwards; and her great-grandchildren, Kalie Bryant and True Seward.

She is also survived by her siblings, Pamela Clarke (Elton), David High, Vickie Oakley (Barry), Tim High, and Steve High (Stephanie); her niece, Miranda Riggan (Eric); and her great-nephews, Michael and Evan Riggan.

Growing up, Belinda attended Philadelphia United Methodist Church, and as an adult, she attended Adam’s Grove Baptist Church and Fountain Grove Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life.

Above all else, Belinda loved Jesus, her family, and her grandchildren with all of her heart. Her greatest joy was the love she shared with those closest to her. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her faith, and the many years of love and memories she gave to those around her.

Belinda’s life was a blessing to her family, and the love she gave will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 18 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, October 19. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. At Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins.
