Martha Short Hitchcock

Martha Short Hitchcock, 91, of Stony Creek (Dinwiddie), widow of O. H. "Billy" Hitchcock, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013. She is survived by one son, Cliff Hitchcock; daughter, Robin Hitchcock Banty and husband, Jimmy; grandson, Daniel Heath Banty; a brother, C. E. Short, Jr. and wife, Doris and devoted caregivers, Sharon Myrick, Joan Davis and Gloria Hall. Mrs. Hitchcock was preceded in death by a son, Heath "Cowboy" Hitchcock; a brother William Short and a sister, Helen Short. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 20 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia. The funeral service will be held graveside 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22 at Asbury Cemetery, Mckenney, Virginia
