William Kenneth Chappell

William Kenneth Chappell, 76, of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Rideout Chappell; son, Kenneth R. “Kenny” Chappell and wife, Sherry of Carson; daughter, Robin Rebecca Chappell of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Adam Chappell, Jackson Chappell and Blake Holdsworth; a great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Holdsworth and sister-in-law, Nellie Wray. Mr. Chappell was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Humphreys and a brother, Joe Wray. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia 23867. The funeral service will be held graveside 2 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Concord United Methodist Church or Gary’s United Methodist Church, Old Hickory Volunteer Fire Department or the Carson Volunteer Fire Department.
