Michael W. "Gator" Gay

Michael W. “Gator” Gay, 52, of Emporia, died Thursday, January 3, 2013. He is survived by two sons, Michael Travis “Tray” Gay and Matthew Shane “Matt” Gay; granddaughter, Kayleigh; his mother, Joyce Majer; stepfather, Bob Majer; sister Pam Moss; nephew, Brent Moss; niece, Brandy Moss and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved pets; his dog Peanut and cat, Baby Girl. Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his father, Majer Gay. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2012 at Emporia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
