Shirley Pearson Skinner

Shirley Pearson Skinner, 77, of Emporia, died Sunday, December 2, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Bruce A. Skinner, Sr.; daughter, Rhonda S. Newton and husband, Melvin of Cary, NC; two sons, Bruce A. Skinner, Jr. and wife, Renee of Montpelier, VA and Barry T. Skinner of Emporia; four grandchildren, Justin Pendergrass, Tori Pendergrass, Tyler Newton and Miranda Skinner; three sisters, Earlene Grizzard, Clyde Lotts and Vera Lee Grizzard and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held graveside 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Greensville Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad or to Calvary Baptist Church.
