Irene Newsome

Irene Williams Newsome, 95, widow of Thomas B. Newsome, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara N. Phillips of Jarratt; two grandsons, Richard Phillips and wife, Kim of Jarratt and Gene Phillips and wife, Marie of Drewryville; great-grandson, Tyler Phillips; a sister, Essie W. Doyle of Roanoke Rapids, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Round Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
