Virginia Clements Osborn

August 26, 1909 — June 26, 2012

Virginia Clements Osborne, 102, of Emporia, passed away June 26, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses Ruben and Lucy Story Clements, two sisters, Mary Roberta Maitland and Prince Pair; and two brothers, Moses Ruben Clements, Jr. and Archie Butts Clements.
Mrs. Osborne is survived by a step daughter, Shirley Osborne Conklin, of Virginia Beach, and her two children Cher and Corey. She also leaves behind two nieces, Connie Clements Ellison and Betty Ann Clements, and two nephews Moses Archie Clements and Jimmy Lee Clements. Virginia also had a close knit extended family from the Hair Station, including her devoted and dear friend, Mary Baird.
Mrs. Osborne was a graduate of Radford College, and she taught in Virginia’s public schools for forty five years. Her first teaching assignments were one-room schools in rural areas of Greensville County. The vast majority of her teaching career was spent in the Fairfax County School system of Northern Virginia. The generations of lives she touched are a testament to her dedication and devotion to public education.
