Lucille A. Cooke

Lucille A. Cooke, 81, widow of William D. Cooke, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline C. O’Connell of Rocky Mount, NC; two sons, Leonard Walter Cooke and Hank Berry Cooke, both of Emporia; three grandchildren, Stephanie Rachael Cooke, Erik Justin O”Connell and Ryan Matthew O”Connell; a great-granddaughter, Ulyana O”Connell; a brother, Calvin Allen of Emporia and a sister, Katherine Perry of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne Cooke. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2012 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Virginia. Interment will follow at Cooke Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 – 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
